I am looking for a book that I read in high school in the mid to late 70's. The book is about a person going from city to with some kind of machine that causes people to get deathly ill. Someone, I believe he was a reporter figures it out and goes on a search to find it. I also think that there was a woman that is with him. Any help.would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Ken!

Allowing for some significant memory confusion (no stranger to this myself) this might be Zelazny’s “To die in Italbar”

(I would post a link, but am on an iPad and have never learnt how to do this)

Ok guys, I checked it out it is not to Die In Italbar. I remember that the symptoms were a lot like that of the Aids virus, but not exactly. I remember the hospitals were getting over ran with people suffering from this and dying. I will.try to get more details from my old brain.

Many thanks for your speedy clarification. Italbar was a bit of a long shot, but it's surprising what can be re-jigged in our memories over the years.

The new details (above) may jog some memories.
