What Was the Last Television Episode You Watched?

MANNIX - A Chance At the Roses - Pharmacist is shot by druggie thief while the police are monitoring the store but the perp escapes. Seems like an open and shut case but is it? Of course not! It wouldn't be a Mannix case if it was.

THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN - The Bionic Woman Part 2 - Jaime is given her first assignment while Steve is reluctant, especially since she is experiencing problems with her bionic arm. I am surprised by the ending--I had forgotten it--although I had read Lindsay Wagner's contract with Universal was supposed to end with this episode but fan response was so great they brought her back.
The story is greatly helped by the human-centered focus of it. Kenneth Johnson told me he felt a fantasy story should have a human interest component--and it sure helps makes one like this retain its dramatic value after decades. The only dated element is the 70s singing by Lee Majors. How many actors want to sing! Premiered 50 years ago today.

The Residence Netflix. Witty, fast-paced and stylish murder mystery set in the White House during a state reception. First episode excellent.

BATMAN - Fine Feathered Finks/The Penguin is a Jinx - The Penguin is let out of prison and plots to get Batman to come up with his next crime.

MANNIX- Blind Mirror - Robert Lansing pushes his wife off a cliff into the ocean but was it deliberate? Mannix is hired by him to find his secretary who saw him shove her and goes missing.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - The Commadante - The team must defeat some Castro wannabes.

KOLCHAK - THE NIGHT STALKER - The Sentry - I haven't watched this in a number of years and it is a bittersweet viewing since it marks the end of the series. I think it is a pretty good episode with some nice creepy moments and the DP did a great job disguising the Lizard Man so it didn't look as fake as it could have. Also McGavin's wife Kathie Browne provides some amusing scenes. But too bad it had to end three episodes early. Carl Kolchak went down the dark mine tunnel for the last time 50 years ago tonight.

That BATMAN is, as far as I am concerned THE BATMAN. Likewise the Futuro Batmobile is THE BATMOBILE. Understand Barris bought it for a whole dollar!

The set design in this show really stands out--the backdrop of the city at night.

I have to admit--when I watched the animated film they did in 2017--Return of the Caped Crusaders--I enjoyed it a lot more than any of the live-action movies so I would agree that these are the true Batman and Robin. I really missed the Burt Ward Robin!

SARGE - Combatants -- A few future tv stars appear in this story about a marine drill sergeant (Morgan Woodward) who has a mental problem with people who come from the Appalachian region like himself. He picks on recruit Don Johnson until the abuse leads to injury and he has to hide him in his trailer. This leads the recruit's girlfriend Lindsay Wagner to ask Sarge for help. He then goes to the military HQ to research the drill sergeant and is reluctantly assisted by Tom Selleck!

McCLOUD - Return to the Alamo-- A reluctant and flu-stricken Chief Clifford is compelled to give sergeant Phyllis Norton (Teri Garr in her last show appearance) a chance at command duty by Chris Coughlin (Diane Muldaur who returns after a few year absence). McCloud insists that Broadhurst be given a second chance at the watch commander post after the previous year disaster in which the squad room was destroyed. But with Clifford off due to the flu and a mad bomber on the loose, Broadhurst is kidnapped by a desperate drug user and a hit man Larry Storch (in a serious part) while McCloud has to find an addicted mother and baby. Thus Norton ends up in charge and it ultimately it leads to the entire floor of the building being destroyed. Premiered 50 years ago today.

DS9 season 3 ep 1. The whole Dominion thing is starting to kick off. At the arrival of the cloaked Federation ship my son who was watching with me said - "but the Federation can't... It was forbidden in the Romulan Treaty! The Federation aren't allowed to have cloaking technology!"

His indignation was assuaged a few minutes later with inclusion of a Romulan officer, there to keep an eye on the tech. But for few minutes there...

Just started watch the reboot of Quantum Leap [it finally arrived on free TV].
Only a few episodes in. The acting is fine and I don't hate any of the characters, so it is working. One thing I do like is the sound track. Nothing like a song you love from 1985 to put you right back in that time frame. The "leap" is a little underwhelming and I'm not loving the multiple conspiracies that seems to be running around, but it has got me so far...

The first episode of new season of The Wheel of Time. It was fine, nothing special. I'm sure we'll watch more, but I'm not overly invested. I suppose that's no surprise given that I stopped reading after book 4 in the series.

I've finished The Extraordinary Attorney Woo season one on Netflix. I cannot remember a television series I've enjoyed more than this one. It follows an autistic savant Woo Young Woo a lawyer who struggles with the world, emotions, and life challenges while having a photographic memory of the law books she's read. To call Park Eun-bin's portrayal of Attorney Woo brilliant is only half good enough. The sixteen episodes all feature some interesting legal cases, which are clearly Korean but very relatable. Perhaps the fairest complaint about this season is that it's a bit saccharine. I prefer to see the show as a place where honesty, integrity, and doing your best are eventually rewarded. There is a romantic thread between Woo and one of the other characters but that does not overwhelm the story or make me go "Yuck! I believe the show's international success proves the power of potent storytelling, regardless of language or country of origin, with its unique perspective and heartwarming message resonating with audiences worldwide.

Avoid --- Not Recommended --- Flawed --- Okay --- Good --- Recommended --- Shouldn’t be Missed

Loved the original . Ultimate " comfort " TV for me .

THE INVADERS - Dark Outpost - David Vincent takes a ride on a saucer and then ends up in some desert where an archeological team is working (with Dawn Wells among them). Will they believe his story? Sure--since it is season 2 and he has a lot more help.

MANNIX - Harlequin's Gold -- Mannix has to find a sailor with a limp since he is inheriting a million dollars but it is just a ruse to bring out the last survivor of a shipwreck so he can join his mates in Davy Jones' Locker. Don Knight who usually has small bits is given pretty good role (not as good as he had in Night Gallery's The Caterpillar).

CANNON - The Death of a Hunter--- vet is killed while tranquilizing a lion and Cannon is asked to find out if it was an accident. At the end he is offered a ride on an elephant but says he wouldn't want to subject an elephant to such a terrible load.

I had a model of the INVADERS' saucer when I was a kid. I bears a certain resemblance to the one from GOKE THE BODY SNATCHER, which also appears in anime.

MANNIX - Who is Sylvia? - Too tried to comment

THE ROCKFORD FILES - Counter Gambit - Ditto but the show is always clever

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA City Beneath the Sea - Crane goes to investigate why divers and subs are being killed or destroyed and finds an evil Jacques Cousteau guy behind a sinister scheme while Admiral Nelson poses as a beach bum when Crane goes missing too.

MANNIX - Only One Death Per Customer --Generic familiar episode with Mannix being targeted for death and trying to find out way--involving an ex-con who wants revenge.

Will Trent "One of Us Now" --- Will Trent has been one of my favorite television series for the last while on the whole I can really identify with Will Trent who struggles to do the right thing, but often finds it very difficult because the right thing so often is antithetical to the "smart thing" politically or personally. In this episode Will is drugged and he has a psychedelic reaction. And then we are treated to about a 5 minute song and dance number. I really, really, had a visceral reaction to this. Not the drugging but the song and dance number. If I hadn't already invested maybe 40+ hours of watching this I might very well have shut it off and never watched it again. Logically, a psychedelic reaction could include anything, so there's no quibble there. But from a show ethos point of view I felt it was BAD. As I mull my reaction I think it just seemed like the cast got together one day and said "Let's have a song and dance. We don't have to be character all the time. I've got some dance moves I really want to show off. Who cares if it's only marginally part of the story. We could use the opportunity to foreshadow the directions the show is moving."

Did I mention that I really, really, did not like the song and dance number?

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA The Fear-Makers - Excellent episode where a test sub crewed by Seaview veterans is destroyed and seemingly due to deep underwater conditions that challenges Admiral Nelson's belief that there are no limits to sea exploration. But it is in fact due to fear-inducing gas secretly employed by double agent Lloyd Bochner and he plans the same for the Seaview.

Jonah and the Whale - Not an excellent episode from season 2 which shows that with colour comes a dumbing down of stories. The apathetic smirk on Basehart's face suggests he knew the ship was barely afloat with this story of him and a Russian scientist being swallowed by a whale and needing to be rescued by Captain Crane going in through the mouth of the sleeping whale to rescue them.

ST:TNG Season 5 S5.E24 The Next Phase <snip>

An episode leavened by the presence of this extra in a later scene who looked so pleased to have the camera panning with her, knowing she'd end up with a close up before exiting frame, that it just made me happy to watch. Hot too,

AND I FOUND OUT WHO SHE IS!

The actresses name is Christi Haydon and she was in more episodes than I had realised: 24 in all, in seasons 5 and 6.

oh ...and she was the drummer and singer with Sparks for a while.

BATMAN -The Joker Is Wild-Batman is Riled Caesar Romero's laugh is so perfect for the Joker.

MAN IN A SUITCASE - Brainwash - I had assumed another episode was the pilot but this is actual first episode where McGill is kidnapped and they attempt to psyche him out into doing an act involving an African country he claims he never visited as a CIA agent.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - The Bargain

Back

Only watched two episodes, but this show is so good.

Apparently it's being reimagined for the US, where I just can't see it working.
